On Christmas Day morning 1975 the LSSO appeared nationally on BBC television. Right in the middle of unwrapping the customary socks, underpants and Leicester City memorabilia they burst forth in a programme called Hark the Herald Angels Sing. The programme, a selection of traditional and newly composed Christmas carols, was never archived by the BBC but fortunately Eric Pinkett recorded the majority of it onto a cassette tape. The excerpt included here is one of the new settings with music composed by Herbert Chappell.
